Omori Cancels Switch and PS4 Physical Release in EuropeMeridiem Games, Omori's European publisher, has announced the cancellation of the game's physical release for Switch and PS4 in Europe. The reason cited is technical difficulties related to multilingual European localization. This news has caused significant disappointment among fans.

A String of Postponements Leading to Cancellation

The European physical release, initially slated for March 2023, faced multiple delays, shifting to December 2023, then March 2024, and finally to January 2025 before ultimately being canceled. While Meridiem Games has been tight-lipped about the specifics of the localization issues, the repeated postponements clearly indicate substantial challenges. Pre-orders through retailers like Amazon were affected, with customers receiving notifications of the ongoing delays and eventual cancellation.

This cancellation is particularly disheartening for European fans, as it prevents the official release of the game in Spanish and other European languages. While a digital version is available, the desire for a physical copy, especially with localized text, is now unmet. The only option for physical ownership remains importing a US version.

Omori Cancels Switch and PS4 Physical Release in EuropeOmori, an RPG following Sunny's journey through reality and a dream world as Omori, initially launched on PC in December 2020. It later expanded to Switch, PS4, and Xbox in 2022. However, the Xbox release was subsequently removed due to an unrelated issue involving an older, inappropriate T-shirt design sold by OMOCAT. The cancellation of the European physical release adds another layer of complexity to the game's availability.
