Treyarch has officially announced the launch date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2: Tuesday, January 28th. This marks the end of Season 1, a remarkably long 75-day run, making it one of the longest seasons in Call of Duty history.
While specifics on Season 2's content remain under wraps, the anticipation is high. The initial success of Black Ops 6, boasting record player numbers in its first month, has been followed by a recent decline, attributed to ongoing issues with cheating in Ranked Play and server stability. The community hopes the new season will revitalize the game and address these concerns.
Season 2 Launch Confirmed
The Season 2 launch date was revealed in a recent update addressing Zombies mode issues. While some fixes were delayed until the next season, Treyarch confirmed the January 28th release. A detailed blog post outlining the new season's features is expected soon.
Season 1 delivered a substantial amount of new content, including multiplayer maps, modes, weapons, and events, significantly impacting Warzone with a new movement system, weapons, gameplay updates, and the Area-99 Resurgence map. The return of popular maps like Nuketown and Hacienda from Black Ops 4 was also a highlight.
Looking ahead, Treyarch has hinted at more classic map remasters for Season 2, though they've emphasized a focus on original content. Associate Creative Director Miles Leslie previously stated that no Black Ops map is excluded from potential remastering, but original map creation remains a priority.
