Gandhi's Return Remains a Possibility

Civ 7 Ghandi DLC Might Be Coming After All

Hope remains for Gandhi's inclusion as a Civ VII leader. In a February 13, 2025 IGN interview, lead designer Ed Beach confirmed that while not currently in the game, Gandhi's return is being considered, likely as DLC.

Beach addressed the absence of historical civilizations like Great Britain and India, stating that the team had to make difficult choices due to the sheer number of popular options. The desire to introduce fresh and exciting civilizations necessitated leaving some out of the initial lineup. He emphasized that Firaxis is considering the long-term picture and plans to reintroduce beloved leaders and civilizations in the future.

Given Civilization VI's extensive DLC history, Gandhi's eventual appearance in Civ VII is plausible. However, a precise release date remains unconfirmed.
