Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta Testing: Dates Confirmed!
Get ready, Call of Duty fans! The official Call of Duty podcast has revealed the dates for the Black Ops 6 multiplayer beta. This beta will run in two stages.
The early access beta kicks off August 30th and runs until September 4th. This early access is for those who pre-ordered Black Ops 6 or have active subscriptions to select Game Pass plans. Following this, a free-for-all open beta will be available from September 6th to 9th. Mark your calendars!
The full game launches October 25th, 2024, on Steam (PC), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
Treyarch's Associate Director of Design, Matt Scronce, shared some exciting details on the podcast. Black Ops 6 will boast 16 multiplayer maps at launch: 12 standard 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps playable in both 6v6 and 2v2 modes. The beloved Zombies mode returns with two brand-new maps. A new "Omnimovement" mechanic is also being introduced.
A key addition for veteran players is the return of the traditional scorestreak system (absent in Black Ops Cold War), where scores reset upon player elimination. Another welcome feature is a dedicated melee weapon slot, eliminating the need to sacrifice a secondary weapon for a knife—a feature the Treyarch team is particularly enthusiastic about.
A complete Black Ops 6 multiplayer reveal is scheduled for the Call of Duty Next event on August 28th.
