Mastering Pokémon battles in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, whether you're tackling Tera Raids or climbing the ranked ladder, hinges on effective stat distribution. Simply leveling up through random encounters will leave your Pokémon with suboptimal stats. Fortunately, farming Attack EVs is surprisingly straightforward. This guide highlights the best locations for efficient EV training.
Table of Contents
A community favorite, this northeastern area (near Team Star’s Fighting Crew base) is packed with Attack EV-yielding Pokémon, including Lokix, Scyther, Bisharp, Heracross, Dratini, and Ursaring. Note that some Pokémon, like Falinks, offer mixed EV gains. For pure Attack EV maximization, consistent battling is key.
For predictable EV gains, the eastern outskirts of Porto Marinada are ideal. Groups of Paldean Tauros yield 2 Attack EVs each, boosted to 10 with a Power Bracer, allowing for precise EV control. This method offers efficient accumulation and fine-tuning.
Before you start, equip the Power Bracer. This item grants an additional +8 Attack EVs per defeated Pokémon. A Pokémon yielding 1 EV will now give 9. While faster methods exist, the Power Bracer offers cost-effectiveness compared to vitamins.
Purchase the Power Bracer for 10,000 Pokédollars at Delibird Presents in Mesagoza, Levincia, and Cascarrafa.
Pokémon outbreaks significantly boost EV gains. However, these are unpredictable. The following Pokémon offer consistent and efficient training:
Common near lakes and swamps, Flamigo appear at various levels, making them suitable for early-game training (e.g., southeastern South Province lakes). Higher-level Flamigo can be found at Casseroya Watchtower No. 1 (level 50+). Be mindful of Pokémon with the "Detect" ability (levels 9-20).
Found in central-western and central-eastern areas, Paldean Tauros usually appear in groups of five. The area south of Levincia is particularly efficient. Some possess the "Intimidate" ability, slightly slowing battles.
Both Flamigo and Paldean Tauros are excellent choices. Their frequent group appearances and 2 base Attack EVs (10 with Power Bracer) allow for rapid EV accumulation (only 26 battles to reach the 252 cap). Remember, use Paldean Tauros, not the Kantonian variant.
Use a "Tropical Sandwich" ("Encounter Power: Fighting Lv. 1") to increase Fighting-type Pokémon encounters. Kelpsy Berries can reduce EVs if you overshoot your target.
Efficient EV training requires patience and strategic choices. Utilize the North Province Area Two, the Power Bracer, Flamigo, and Paldean Tauros. Avoid auto-battles and Pokémon with hindering abilities for optimal results.
