KonoSuba: Fantastic Days to Conclude Service in January 2025

The popular mobile RPG, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days, developed by Sesisoft, will be ending its service on January 30th, 2025, after a nearly five-year run. Both the global and Japanese servers will shut down simultaneously. However, a potential offline version is in the works, aiming to preserve the core storyline, major quests, and events for players to enjoy even after the servers close. Details regarding this offline version remain scarce.

In-App Purchases and Refunds

The developers are handling the shutdown smoothly. Official channels will cease operations on February 28th, 2025. In-app purchases were disabled on October 31st, 2024. Players can still utilize existing in-game Quartz and items until the service ends. Refunds for unused Quartz or unclaimed purchases from early 2024 are available until January 30th, 2025, for eligible players.

A Look Back at KonoSuba: Fantastic Days

Initially launched in Japan in February 2020 and globally in August 2021, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days was the first mobile game adaptation of the KonoSuba franchise. The game featured a charming narrative set in a world under threat from the Devil King's army, complemented by appealing visuals and a visual novel-style story mode.

Despite its positive aspects, the game ultimately succumbed to the challenges faced by many gacha RPGs. Rising production costs and waning player interest contributed to its closure, mirroring the fate of several other anime-based mobile games this year.

Players still interested in experiencing KonoSuba: Fantastic Days have only a few months remaining before the servers shut down. The game is available on the Google Play Store. For more gaming news, check out our article on Orna: The GPS MMORPG’s Conqueror’s Guild for PvP Battles.
