Bandai Namco's fortress strategy RPG, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, is officially closing its doors. This isn't unexpected for many players, mirroring the fate of other Naruto gacha games like Naruto Blazing, which also struggled with gameplay balance and ultimately shut down.
Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage Shutdown Date:
Launched in 2017, the game's seven-year run will conclude on December 9th, 2024. Players can continue enjoying the game until then.
Several events are planned before the game's end-of-service (EOS):
Players can continue collecting Ninja Cards, participating in summoning events, and using in-game items until the final day. It's advisable to spend any remaining Gold Coins.
Reasons for the Shutdown:
While initially successful with its balanced village-building, trap-setting, and character defense mechanics, the game's decline began around its mid-life. The introduction of Minato Namikaze marked a shift towards power creep, alienating many players. This was further compounded by increasingly obvious pay-to-win elements, reduced free-to-play rewards, and the near-disappearance of multiplayer features. The writing was on the wall for many long-time players. The game remains available on the Google Play Store for those who wish to try it.
