Netflix is releasing a new animated *Witcher* movie, *The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep*, on February 11, 2025! Based on Andrzej Sapkowski's short story, "A Little Sacrifice," from *Sword of Destiny*, this exciting spin-off promises a unique adventure.
The film unfolds in a coastal village where a centuries-old conflict between humans and merfolk has reached a boiling point. A kingdom, somewhere on the Continent, has called upon the services of Geralt of Rivia—but instead of the usual monsters, he’s facing off against some very angry merpeople.
Returning to voice Geralt is Doug Cockle. He’s joined by Joey Batey as Jaskier and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer. A new character, Essi Daven, will be voiced by Christina Wren (Will Trent).
Andrzej Sapkowski serves as a creative consultant, while Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin (writers for the live-action series) penned the script. Directing is Kang Hei Chul, storyboard artist for *The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf*.
The movie is set between episodes 5 and 6 of *The Witcher* season 1. Following Geralt and Yennefer's meeting in Rinde after the Djinn incident, Geralt is hired to deal with a coastal monster problem. The film's location is likely somewhere between Redania and Temeria, possibly Bremervoord City in Temeria, as depicted in the original short story. However, some creative liberties might be taken.
