Genki at CES 2025: A Closer Look at the Nintendo Switch 2 Mockup

Genki, renowned for its handheld gaming accessories, unveiled a 3D-printed Nintendo Switch 2 mockup at CES 2025, revealing key details about Nintendo's next-gen console. The mockup, reportedly based on a black market acquisition, accurately reflects the Switch 2's dimensions and features. Key takeaways include a larger form factor (closer to the Steam Deck), magnetic Joy-Con controllers, a second USB-C port, and an enigmatic "C" button.

Genki CEO Eddie Tsai confirmed the magnetic Joy-Con design in an interview with The Verge. While magnets replace the original Switch's sliding rails, the Joy-Con remain securely attached during gameplay. Each Joy-Con features an optical sensor, hinting at potential functionality as a mouse via a yet-to-be-released accessory. Leaked Switch 2 images appear to corroborate the presence of these sensors.

Despite its increased size, the Switch 2 remains slim enough to physically fit within the existing Switch dock. However, structural differences render it incompatible. The functions of the additional USB-C port and the "C" button remain undisclosed.
