The Steely Resolve event in Pokémon GO, running from January 21st to 26th, marks the highly anticipated debut of the Corviknight evolutionary line: Rookidee, Corvisquire, and Corviknight. This arrival fulfills a long-held community wish, expanding the Galar region Pokémon roster within the game.
The event's arrival was subtly foreshadowed in December 2024's Dual Destiny Season loading screen, featuring Rookidee and Corviknight before their official announcement.
The Steely Resolve event is packed with activities:
- New Pokémon: Rookidee, Corvisquire, and Corviknight make their first appearance.
- Special Research: A Dual Destiny Special Research taskline offers new rewards.
- Field Research: New Field Research tasks will be available.
- Increased Spawns: Increased spawn rates for various Pokémon, including Clefairy, Paldean Wooper, and Carbink (some with shiny possibilities).
- Magnetic Lure Modules: These modules will attract Pokémon like Onix, Beldum, Shieldon, and Rookidee.
- Charged TM Utility: Use a Charged TM to remove Frustration from Shadow Pokémon.
- Raids: One-star, five-star (featuring Deoxys and Dialga), and Mega Raids (Mega Gallade and Mega Medicham) will be available. Several raid Pokémon have shiny possibilities.
- 2km Eggs: These eggs will contain Shieldon, Carbink, Mareanie, and Rookidee (some with shiny potential).
- Featured Attacks: Evolving specific Pokémon during the event will grant them unique, powerful attacks (e.g., Corviknight learning Iron Head).
- GO Battle Week (Dual Destiny): Running concurrently, this event offers increased Stardust rewards, expanded battle limits, a free Timed Research with Grimsley-inspired avatar rewards, and varied Pokémon stats in GO Battle League rewards. Multiple leagues will be active.
A paid Timed Research ($5) will also be available. The event promises a busy and rewarding experience for Pokémon GO players, adding to the already exciting start to the year, which also includes the return of Shadow Ho-Oh in Shadow Raids, Dynamax raids featuring Kanto Legendary Birds, and the return of the Pokémon GO Community Day Classic.
