MGS Delta: Snake Eater Retains Original's Suggestive Content, Rating Indicates

The much-anticipated Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater retains the suggestive and sexual content from its predecessor, Metal Gear Solid 3, including the controversial Peep Demo Theatre, as confirmed by an age rating from the ESRB. Although Konami has yet to officially confirm the inclusion of this content, the game has been rated Mature 17+ by the ESRB, citing realistic gunfire, cries of pain, bloody combat, and "suggestive/sexual content."

The ESRB's detailed report highlights the game's intense combat and violence, noting scenes such as a restrained character being beaten and electrocuted, a character shot in the eye, and another set on fire and shot multiple times. Additionally, the rating board pointed out the game's suggestive elements, including scenes of a man groping a woman's breasts, close-up camera angles of deep cleavage, a character briefly groping a man's crotch, and the Peep Demo Theatre, which allows players to view cutscenes of a female character's body from a first-person perspective.

The Peep Demo Theatre, an unlockable feature in the Subsistence and HD Collection versions of the original Metal Gear Solid 3, allows players to control the camera during a specific cutscene featuring Eva in her underwear. This feature becomes available after completing the game four times.

Konami has officially announced that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will launch on August 28, accompanied by a new teaser trailer that also confirmed the return of the beloved Snake vs. Monkey minigame.

IGN's Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater preview described the game as more of a "very shiny HD remaster" than the "elegant remake" it could have been. The preview praised its nostalgic appeal but noted that it remains almost too faithful to the original. IGN previously awarded Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater an impressive score of 9.6, reflecting the high regard for the original game.
