With these systems, you can stay on top of your glucose levels without the need for fingersticks and with no calibration required for treatment decisions*. The Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro provide you with essential alarms and alerts based on your glucose levels, ensuring you're always informed.
*Note that fingersticks are necessary for diabetes management if symptoms don't align with the readings.
Both the Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro deliver real-time glucose readings every five minutes, suitable for patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, and are approved for children aged 2 years and older. These systems enhance your diabetes management by offering personalized trend alerts directly on your smart device. They notify you when your glucose levels are trending too low or too high, allowing for proactive management.
The Alert Schedule feature** enables you to tailor a second set of alerts to your daily routine, such as setting different alert levels during work hours. You can also choose from custom alert sounds, including a Vibrate-Only option on your phone for glucose alerts. The one alert you can't turn off is the Urgent Low Alarm, ensuring your safety.
The Always Sound setting**, enabled by default, ensures you receive critical Dexcom CGM Alerts even if your phone is set to silent, vibrate, or in Do Not Disturb mode. This allows you to mute calls and texts but still hear CGM alarms and alerts, including the Urgent Low Alarm, Low and High Glucose alerts, Urgent Low Soon Alert**, and Rise and Fall Rate alerts**. An icon on your home screen indicates whether your alerts will sound. For safety reasons, the Urgent Low Alarm and three specific alerts—Transmitter Failed, Sensor Failed, and App Stopped—cannot be silenced.
Additional features include:
- Share** your glucose data in real-time with up to ten followers who can monitor your levels and trends using the Dexcom Follow** app. Both Share and Follow require an internet connection.
- Health Connect access for sharing retrospective glucose data with third-party apps.
- Quick Glance feature lets you check your glucose data right from your smart device's lock screen.
- Wear OS Integration allows you to receive glucose alerts and alarms directly on your Wear OS watch.
**These features are not available on the Dexcom G6 Pro System.
