Project ETHOS: A Fresh Take on Hero Shooters

2K Games and 31st Union have joined forces to deliver Project ETHOS, a free-to-play game aiming to redefine the hero shooter genre. The game combines the dynamic evolution of roguelikes with the unique abilities of distinct heroes, all within a thrilling third-person perspective.

What makes Project ETHOS stand out? Its innovative "Evolutions" system. Each match features randomized Evolutions that dramatically alter your hero's capabilities, forcing you to adapt strategies on the fly. Turn your sniper into a close-quarters combatant, or transform a support character into a solo powerhouse—the possibilities are endless!

Project ETHOS offers two core game modes:

• Trials: This signature mode challenges teams of three to compete against both human and AI opponents. Collect Cores, strategically choose when to extract, and use them to unlock upgrades and abilities. Death means losing your Cores, so survival is key! You can join ongoing matches, but be aware of the remaining time before jumping in.

• Gauntlet: A classic competitive PvP mode. Fight through brackets, upgrading your hero with each victory, until only one team remains. Elimination means waiting for the next round.

How to Participate in the Playtest

Project ETHOS is committed to community feedback. The playtest, running from October 17th to 21st, is your chance to shape the game's future. Earn a playtest key by watching participating Twitch streams for 30 minutes. You can also register on the official website for future playtest opportunities.

Playtest Region: Currently limited to the US, Canada, Mexico, UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy.
