After finishing the main quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you can continue to explore the expansive open world of Feudal Japan. The game doesn't lock you out of any side content, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the rich environment and complete any remaining tasks. Additionally, new weekly challenges will be introduced through the Animus post-launch, ensuring there's always something new to do, even after achieving 100% completion.
Even after the credits roll, your journey in Assassin’s Creed Shadows might not be over. In my playthrough, the credits appeared after completing the Shinbakufu Objective Board and the main quests for Yasuke and Naoe. However, to unlock the epilogue and the true ending, you must complete the personal stories of Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro. After that, return to the Hideout and speak with Tomiko to unlock the complete ending and earn the associated achievements.
At the end of the game, you can also unlock exclusive gear themed around the Assassins for Naoe and the Templars for Yasuke. These armor sets come with unique perks that enhance each protagonist’s playstyle and are sure to delight fans of the Assassin’s Creed series. Furthermore, you can continue to level up your characters to the game’s maximum level cap even after the credits roll.
While the main story of Assassin’s Creed Shadows concludes at launch, there's much more to anticipate. New content will be added through the Animus, and the in-game store will likely see updates with new items. Additionally, a story expansion titled The Claws of Awaji is set to release later in 2025, taking players to the Island of Awaji and adding over 10 hours of new content.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
