Black Myth: Wukong Leaked Ahead of ReleaseProducer Advises Players to Prevent Further Circulation of Leaked Content
With less than a week until the release of Black Myth: Wukong, leaked content has commenced spreading online. The trending hashtag "Black Myth Wukong Leak" reportedly gained popularity on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo, on Wednesday after videos displaying unreleased game content were posted online.
Following the leak, producer Feng Ji took to Weibo to address fans and the spoilers. In his post (translated via machine translation), Feng explained that spoilers can dampen the exhilarating sense of discovery and role-playing that the game offers. Black Myth Wukong's charm depends on players' "curiosity," the producer added.
Feng also urged players to refrain from ruining this element of surprise for others, stating that fans must take the initiative to abstain from viewing and sharing the leaked content. "If a friend around you clearly states that they do not wish to be spoiled about the game, please assist in protecting them." He added, "I am still confident that regardless of the amount of leaked content you have viewed in advance, [Black Myth: Wukong] will still provide the unique experiences it has in store."
The game is now available for pre-order and is set to launch on August 20, 2024, at 10 AM UTC 8 on PS5, Steam, Epic Games Store, and WeGame.
