Neowiz and Gamfs N have just unveiled the first content update for BrownDust2 since its 1.5-year anniversary celebration in December. Dubbed "Onsen Training," this update introduces a sizzling new experience to the game.
Onsen Training transports players to a serene Japanese winter hot spring, complete with intense swordfighting battles and classic BrownDust2 challenges. But that's not all—there's a dash of monkey mischief to keep things entertaining and unpredictable.
This update introduces three new characters to the mix. Ventana, the story's protagonist, along with Liberta, can be recruited through the pickup draw. Meanwhile, Blade remains a narrative-exclusive character.
The Onsen Training event story unfolds in the same universe as Character Pack 1: Jayden’s Gate of BrownDust2. It features 30 battles, divided into 15 normal and 15 challenge modes.
The adventure kicks off with Ventana, the Kendo Club captain, who is reeling from a devastating defeat by Justia, a newcomer. Driven by a desire to restore her honor, Ventana heads to a snowy mountain hot spring reputed for boosting physical strength. Her training is thrown into disarray, however, when she crosses paths with the playful Snowy Mountain Monkeys.
Her plight is eased by Blade, a revered Kendo Club alumnus, who nonetheless rebuffs her plea for swordsmanship lessons. Enter Liberta, the hot spring's manager, who steps up to assist Ventana in winning Blade's mentorship.
The update also introduces a fresh mini-game called "Onsen Tile Tactics," where players race against time to clear tiles. The event story unfolds in phases, starting with "Legendary Graduate" in the first week and culminating with "Beyond Legend" in the third week.
Players will encounter both returning and new bosses. The first week sees the return of Giant Rou, the Fiend Hunter boss. In the third week, players face off against the Snowy Mountain Tyrant, a formidable monkey that grows stronger when targeting enemies with DoT effects.
Additionally, the Guild Raid boss Rucersingha, the Ruler of the Void, makes its debut. With no elemental weaknesses, Rucersingha unleashes devastating attacks and requires numerous chain stacks to be defeated.
The update also offers new gear and costumes to collect. The Onsen Practitioner Ventana costume is available until January 30th, followed by the Onsen Manager Liberta costume, which will be available until February 13th.
