Card Shop Simulator 'Kardboard Kings' Debuts on Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll's Android app now features Kardboard Kings, a captivating single-player card shop management game. Initially launched on PC in February 2022, this title from Henry's House, Oscar Brittain, and Rob Gross (published by Akupara Games) has made its way to consoles and now mobile devices via Crunchyroll. Crunchyroll members can download it at no cost.

The Kardboard Kings Experience:

Players step into the shoes of Harry Hsu, inheriting his father's card shop. His father was a renowned card collector and Warlock champion. Harry's journey involves navigating the exciting world of buying, selling, and trading cards.

He receives unexpected assistance from Giuseppe, a quick-witted cockatoo with an uncanny ability to identify profitable deals. This feathered business partner proves invaluable.

The seaside location adds charm to the gameplay. Harry must satisfy customers, but the option to engage in some lighthearted deception for extra profit remains.

The game boasts charming characters, witty dialogue, and references to other card games and anime. Over 100 unique cards feature quirky illustrations, including special shiny variants.

Gameplay Mechanics:

The core gameplay revolves around the classic "buy low, sell high" principle. However, as the game progresses, card conditions and set rarities fluctuate, adding layers of complexity. Factors such as foil finishes and card popularity influence value.

Kardboard Kings also includes a roguelite deck-building mode on Card Game Island, where players face challenging duelists. Additional features include hosting tournaments, booster pack parties, and clearance sales.
