Firaxis Games, the creators of Civ 7, have shared their roadmap, outlining four significant content drops planned for March. Days before the game's release, they detailed updates categorized into Content Collections (paid DLCs), Free Updates, and Events & Challenges. March's additions include:

Looking beyond March, Firaxis teased even more content: two additional leaders, four new civilizations, and four world wonders, alongside fresh events and challenges. While release dates remain unannounced for this wave of content, further updates are planned for October 2025 and beyond.

The developers also acknowledged several features initially planned for launch but ultimately postponed. While release dates are currently unavailable, these features are actively under development:

• Adding teams to multiplayer games
• Increasing the maximum multiplayer player count to eight
• Enabling players to select starting and ending eras
• Expanding the variety of available map types
• Introducing hotseat multiplayer
