Curious about Artian weapons in *Monster Hunter Wilds*? These brand-new weapons are a game-changer, allowing you to craft unique gear with customizable stats and elements. They're a late-game feature, so let’s dive into everything you need to know to master them.
The first step to unlocking Artian weapons is to beat the story and reach High Rank. Keep pushing forward until you take down your first Tempered monster. You'll recognize this monster by the NPCs' comments on its toughness and scars, but we won't spoil the surprise for you.
After defeating this formidable foe, Gemma will approach you to discuss Artian weapons, triggering a tutorial that walks you through the crafting process. Gemma can now craft these unique weapons, which are made up of three components. To craft any given weapon, you need at least one of each component type. However, there's more to it than that.
Each component comes with a rarity value, an element type, and an Artian bonus. Components with the same rarity value can be used together, and the elemental effect of your weapon is determined by the most prevalent element among the components. For example, using two water and one lightning component will result in a water weapon. Using three water components will enhance the water infusion, but using three different elements will leave your weapon without any elemental infusion.
The Artian bonus offers either an attack boost, increasing your weapon's overall damage, or an affinity boost, which enhances your critical hit chance. Your choice depends on your playstyle and preferences. To craft these weapons, you'll need to gather Artian materials.
Obtaining Artian materials is straightforward: hunt Tempered monsters in High Rank. Once you've defeated your first Tempered monster, one or two will typically roam each area, and you'll receive notifications when they appear. These monsters are marked on the map with a distinctive blue outline.
Defeating or capturing a Tempered monster rewards you with Artian parts, which you can find alongside the main mission rewards and decorations. As your hunter rank increases, the rarity of these parts will also rise, ensuring your progress naturally improves your gear. While there's no direct link between the monster you hunt and the specific Artian drops, feel free to target the ones you enjoy fighting or need parts from for other weapons or armor.
