Revue Starlight Re:LIVE's End of Service (EOS) is Imminent
The curtain is falling on Revue Starlight Re:LIVE. The mobile game, based on the popular anime, will officially shut down its servers on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC, marking the end of nearly six years on Android.
Reasons Behind the Closure
While not entirely unexpected, the announcement of Revue Starlight Re:LIVE's EOS isn't a complete shock. The game's performance over the past five and a half years has been underwhelming. Players have noted a pattern of repetitive events, reused assets, and an excessive number of costly battle passes. Furthermore, questionable narrative choices, such as the abrupt character shift from The Giraffe to a less-connected storyline involving a girl and her toy bear, haven't helped maintain player engagement. The shutdown affects global servers, including Japan.
Positive Aspects of the Game
Despite its shortcomings, Revue Starlight Re:LIVE had its strengths. The game boasts a fantastic soundtrack featuring numerous tracks from the anime. The high-quality 3D graphics and Live2D animations were also praised.
A Final Farewell?
Although the game's lifespan is nearing its end, there's still time to experience Revue Starlight Re:LIVE before the EOS. Developers are launching several events in August and September to thank players. A "Thank You For Everything" campaign offers 10 free pulls daily, and a two-month birthday celebration is underway, including two "New Stage Girl Gacha" events in each month. Download the game from the Google Play Store to participate in these final events.
