Epic Unveils "This" Free Title for January

Escape Academy is the Epic Games Store's free game offering for January 16th, 2025. This escape-room style puzzle game, developed by Coin Crew Games, will be available for a week, until January 23rd. This marks the second time Escape Academy has been offered for free on the EGS, but the first time for a full week. Its previous free offering was a shorter period on January 1st, 2024. The timing is particularly beneficial for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as the game is leaving the service on January 15th.

This highly-rated title boasts an "80" average score and an 88% recommendation rate on OpenCritic, making it the highest-rated free game offered by the EGS in 2025 so far. Escape Academy is the fourth free game of 2025 on the Epic Games Store, following Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Hell Let Loose, and Turmoil. The announcement of the fifth free game is anticipated on January 16th. For players who enjoy the main game, two DLC packs, "Escape From Anti-Escape Island" and "Escape From the Past," are available for individual purchase ($9.99 each) or as a Season Pass ($14.99).
