Fable: First Pre-Alpha Gameplay Revealed

Completely unexpectedly, early gameplay footage of the next Fable installment surfaced during the Official Xbox Podcast. The video offers glimpses of diverse in-game locations, the combat system, a variety of enemies, and even a brief cutscene. Naturally, the iconic chicken kick also makes a memorable appearance.

Earlier, the head of Xbox Game Studios confirmed a delay for Fable, pushing its release from 2025 to 2026. The stated reason is the need for further polishing and refinement.

Announced on July 23, 2020, the reboot of this iconic series has remained shrouded in secrecy until now. Three years post-announcement, it's become apparent that Fable was still in its early development stages.

The involvement of Eidos Montreal to assist main developer Playground Games, coupled with the long absence of polished gameplay footage, strongly suggests the game faced significant developmental challenges.
