Analyst Matthew Ball's controversial suggestion that a $100 price tag for AAA titles could revitalize the gaming industry sparked a debate. To gauge player sentiment, a survey was conducted, revealing surprising results. Over one-third of nearly 7,000 respondents indicated a willingness to pay $100 for a standard edition of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6, despite Ubisoft's current practice of pushing for more expensive, expanded editions.

Ball's assertion, which recently gained significant online traction, posits that Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive could set a precedent for other publishers by adopting this pricing model.

Rockstar has confirmed updates for Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online in 2025, bringing the PC version in line with the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. While specifics remain undisclosed, these updates likely extend beyond mere visual enhancements.

The possibility of expanding the GTA+ subscription service, currently exclusive to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, to PC players is also on the table. Currently, PC users lack access to certain console features, such as Hao's specialized car modifications offering extreme speed boosts. The introduction of these features to the PC version is highly probable.
