Akupara Games and Tmesis Studio's latest adventure game, Universe for Sale, is now available. Following successful releases like The Darkside Detective series and Zoeti earlier this year, Akupara Games delivers another intriguing title.
Is the Universe Really for Sale?
Set on a Jupiter space station, this bizarre bazaar is shrouded in acid rain and mystery. Expect witty orangutans working the docks and cultists bartering flesh for enlightenment. The universe itself is for sale, thanks to Lila, a woman with the unusual ability to create universes from her hand.
The game begins in a mining colony shantytown. You play as the Master, a skeletal cultist from the Cult of Detachment – a character both unsettling and captivating. Exploring the ramshackle colony, filled with quirky shops, you eventually encounter Honin’s Tea House, Lila's shop, where the central mystery unfolds as you switch between Lila's and the Master's perspectives.
As Lila, you create universes in a captivating mini-game, mixing ingredients to generate visually stunning worlds. The Master's journey delves into the philosophies of the Cult of Detachment and interactions with the Church of Many Gods.
The narrative unfolds gradually, prompting players to theorize about the overarching plot. Each character, human, skeletal, or robotic, possesses a unique story, and the richly detailed world encourages thorough exploration.
