Jurassic World Dominion incorporates a scene from Michael Crichton's original Jurassic Park novel that was omitted from Steven Spielberg's 1993 film adaptation, screenwriter David Koepp has confirmed. In an interview with Variety, Koepp, who penned the screenplay for the original Jurassic Park and returned to write this year's Jurassic World Dominion, explained that he revisited Crichton's novel to aid his work on the latest sequel, as it lacks a corresponding source material. This rereading led to the inclusion of a previously unused sequence. "There was a sequence from the first novel that we'd always wanted in the original movie, but didn't have room for," Koepp stated. "We were like, 'Hey, we get to use that now.'" While Koepp declined to specify the scene, fan speculation has already begun, focusing on several potential candidates.
