Heroes United: Fight x3 is a standard 2D, hero-collecting RPG. However, a quick look at its marketing materials reveals some…unexpected characters. It's been a while since we've seen such blatant copyright infringement!
With winter's arrival, new mobile game releases are becoming less frequent. While holiday spending tends to shift away from mobile gaming, occasional titles still emerge. Some are gems (like Mask Around), others…less so, like Heroes United: Fight x3.
At first glance, it's a fairly unremarkable 2D hero-collecting RPG. You gather a diverse team and battle enemies and bosses – a familiar formula. But a closer look at the game's promotional materials reveals some strikingly familiar faces.
Characters bearing a suspicious resemblance to Goku, Doraemon, and Tanjiro Kamado are prominently featured. While I'm hesitant to be overly cynical, the lack of licensing is quite apparent. It's almost amusing to witness such shameless imitation.
It's undeniably audacious to include these recognizable characters, especially given their appearances in other games. Yet, it's also strangely comforting to see a truly brazen rip-off after such a long time.
