Tencent's Polaris Quest Unveils Ambitious Open-World RPG, Light of Motiram, for Mobile
Get ready for a massive announcement! Not only has Project Mugen's title been revealed, but Tencent's Polaris Quest has just confirmed its open-world RPG, Light of Motiram, is coming to mobile devices.
Initially announced for Epic Games Store, Steam, and PlayStation 5 via Chinese social media (as reported by Gematsu), the game's arrival on mobile is a significant development. Given its impressive visuals and extensive feature set, this is a bold move.
What exactly is Light of Motiram? It's a genre-bending experience. It's an open-world RPG with base-building (think Rust), creature collection and customization (perhaps a touch of Palworld), and even giant mechanical animals reminiscent of Horizon Zero Dawn. The game also features co-op and cross-play functionality.
This ambitious approach, while potentially addressing concerns of copying other titles (particularly from Horizon fans), also raises questions about its feasibility across multiple platforms, especially mobile. A mobile beta is reportedly in development, so we'll have to wait and see how Tencent and Polaris Quest manage to squeeze all these features onto smartphones.
More details on the mobile release are expected later. In the meantime, check out our list of the top five new mobile games this week to keep you entertained!
