Let's dive into the details of these exciting new additions.
Cloudspire Coordinator is an uncommon creature card that encapsulates the essence of the red-white color pairing in Aetherdrift. This card is a nod to the Cloudspire Racing Team from the plane of Kylem, first introduced in the 2018 set, Battlebond. With a power of 3, Cloudspire Coordinator can crew vehicles on its own, but its activated ability takes it a step further by creating Pilot token creatures to crew vehicles for you. This card is a fantastic choice for those looking to build a red-white deck during an Aetherdrift draft, enhancing your vehicle strategy.
On the other hand, Count on Luck is a rare enchantment card with a straightforward yet powerful effect. For just 3 mana and an all-red casting cost, this card introduces "impulse draw" to your mono-red deck. At the start of each of your turns, you exile the top card of your library and can play it that turn. This mechanic ensures a consistent flow of extra cards, provided you can utilize them immediately. It's a "use it or lose it" scenario that adds an exciting layer of strategy to your gameplay.
We also have a special treat for you—a glimpse at Count on Luck in its extended-art and First-Place Foil versions. While the extended-art treatment expands the art beyond the traditional card frame, the First-Place Foils are a novel addition to Aetherdrift. These golden cards are exclusive to a randomized buy-a-box promo pack that comes with every Aetherdrift box, featuring all the rares and 10 full-art lands in this dazzling treatment.
Mark your calendars: Aetherdrift will be available both in paper and online starting February 14, with prereleases beginning on February 7. For a deeper dive into the set's mechanics, be sure to check out the full details here.
