Marvel Rivals kicked off its Competitive Play feature with the launch of Season 0 - Dooms' Rise, allowing players who have reached level 10 to engage in skill-based matchmaking. Starting from the Bronze rank, players can climb the competitive ladder, selecting from a diverse roster of over thirty characters spread across three roles: Strategist, Duelist, and Vanguard. Each victory in Competitive Play contributes to your progression through the rank divisions, pushing you closer to higher tiers.
As you ascend through the ranks during a Competitive Season, you unlock the opportunity to earn seasonal rewards. These rewards include cosmetic skins for specific characters and Crests of Honor, which are emblems that showcase your highest achieved rank on your profile. In Season 1 - Eternal Night Falls, players can earn the exclusive Blood Shield skin for the new Strategist character, Invisible Woman, through competitive play.
Season 1 - Eternal Night Falls introduced several updates to Marvel Rivals, including enhancements to the Competitive Play system. A new rank, Celestial, was added between Grandmaster and Eternity, featuring three tiers similar to other ranks. Alongside hero adjustments, the season introduced new seasonal rewards, such as S2 Crest variants for those reaching Grandmaster and above, and the coveted Blood Shield skin for Invisible Woman.
To claim the Blood Shield skin for Invisible Woman, players must reach the rank of Gold III or higher during the competitive season. Importantly, these rewards are based on your peak rank, not your final rank at the end of the season. So, even if you drop below Gold III after reaching it, you'll still be eligible for the skin. However, you won't receive the Blood Shield skin until the conclusion of the current season and the start of Season 3, when it will appear in your Invisible Woman cosmetics gallery.
