If you're a fan of *League of Legends*, you're in for a treat with the new minigame, Demon’s Hand, which will be available in the client until the end of April. If you've played *Balatro*, you'll find the gameplay mechanics familiar as you dive into this engaging card game within *League of Legends*.

League of Legends Demon’s Hand Set-Up and Getting Started

To begin your journey with Demon’s Hand, ensure your *League* client is updated to the latest version. Once updated, navigate to the Play button, select the game type menu, and choose Demon’s Hand. This will launch you into an introductory story, setting the stage for your first round of the card game.

Your hand is displayed along the bottom row of cards. In the bottom right corner, you'll see your health, coins, and percent crit chance. Just above, there's the Sigil box, where you can have up to six Sigils active at once, though you'll start with none. Remember, your health won't automatically restore after each battle; you'll need to visit tent locations on the map to regain a percentage of your health.

The enemy card sits at the top of the screen, with its health and damage shown in the bottom right and left corners, respectively. To the left of the enemy card, you'll find an attack coin indicating how many hands you can play before the enemy strikes. On the left edge of the screen, a book lists all possible hands you can play as attacks, along with their base damage in a standard round.

To inflict damage, you'll play poker hands, each with a unique name in Demon’s Hand but following familiar poker terminology. The pinnacle is The Demon’s Hand, equivalent to a royal flush. Here's a breakdown of the hands you can play and their corresponding poker terms:

  • Solo = High Card (10 Base Damage)
  • Dyad = Pair (20 Base Damage)
  • Dyad Set = Two Pair (40 Base Damage)
  • Triad = Three of a Kind (80 Base Damage)
  • Tetrad = Four of a Kind (100 Base Damage)
  • March = Straight (125 Base Damage)
  • Horde = Flush (175 Base Damage)
  • Grand Warhost = Full House (400 Base Damage)
  • Marching Horde = Straight Flush (600 Base Damage)
  • The Demon’s Hand = Royal Flush (2000 Base Damage)

In addition to the base damage, the numerical value of each card adds to the total damage. However, if the enemy has a special ability that nullifies a specific suit, cards of that suit will be crossed out, and their value won't contribute to the damage.

Spice Up Your Attacks with Sigils

Sigils play a crucial role in enhancing your gameplay. You can purchase them during store phases, marked by coins on the map, which you earn by defeating enemies. Each Sigil offers a unique ability, visible when you hover over them in the store or during a round. Some Sigils amplify the damage of specific hands, like boosting Dyads, while others might extend the number of turns before an enemy attacks or reduce the damage you receive.

This guide covers the essentials of playing the Demon’s Hand card game in *League of Legends*. If card games aren't your thing, keep an eye out for the upcoming April Fools skins, which promise exciting additions to your Summoner’s Rift experience.
