Mattel163 enhances inclusivity in its popular mobile card games with the "Beyond Colors" update. This significant change makes UNO! Mobile, Phase 10: World Tour, and Skip-Bo Mobile more accessible to the estimated 300 million people worldwide affected by color blindness.
Beyond Colors: A Game Changer
Instead of relying solely on color differentiation, Beyond Colors utilizes distinct shapes – squares, triangles, and others – to represent card values. This ensures all players can easily distinguish between cards, regardless of their color vision.
Enabling Beyond Colors:
Activating this feature is simple. In each game (UNO! Mobile, Phase 10: World Tour, and Skip-Bo Mobile), access your account settings via your avatar icon. Within the card theme options, enable the Beyond Colors deck.
Collaboration for Inclusivity:
Mattel163 collaborated with colorblind gamers throughout the development of Beyond Colors, guaranteeing user-friendly and effective symbols. This initiative reflects Mattel's broader commitment to accessibility, with a goal of making 80% of its games colorblind-accessible by 2025. The design process involved experts in color vision deficiency and the global gaming community, exploring various solutions including patterns, textures, and symbols to ensure color isn't the sole identifier.
Consistent Across Games:
The shapes used in Beyond Colors are consistent across all three games. Mastering the system in one game translates seamlessly to the others. Download and play UNO! Mobile, Phase 10: World Tour, and Skip-Bo Mobile on the Google Play Store.
