Microsoft is rolling out exciting updates to Xbox Game Pass, bringing new ways for players to earn points and introducing Quests for PC Game Pass subscribers. These updates are designed to enhance the gaming experience while ensuring age-appropriate content. As a result, Game Pass Rewards will be accessible only to players aged 18 and older.
Xbox Game Pass offers an extensive library of games for a monthly subscription fee, available on Xbox consoles and Windows PCs. The service features different tiers, each providing unique benefits, including access to Quests and Rewards. Players can earn points by completing quests, which can then be redeemed for various rewards. Microsoft is set to expand this system starting January 7.
According to Xbox Wire, Quests will now be available to PC Game Pass members, not just Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. This expansion allows players 18 and older with an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass membership to access Xbox Quests and the Rewards Hub from their profile. To earn points, players must meet a minimum playtime requirement and can only participate in Quests for games within the Game Pass catalog, excluding titles with third-party launchers.
The updated Game Pass Quest system is designed to be user-friendly, offering daily, weekly, and monthly opportunities to earn rewards, along with the return of Xbox Game Pass weekly streaks. Players who play for at least five days in a week can multiply their points, and maintaining a streak every week can increase the multiplier from 2x to 4x. Additionally, users can earn points daily by playing any title in the Game Pass catalog or by exploring four to eight different games for 15 minutes each month.
Members aged 18 and older can earn a new PC weekly bonus by playing 15 minutes a day for 5 days. Microsoft emphasizes its commitment to creating an age-appropriate experience for members, meaning players younger than 18 won’t have access to the new benefits and rewards. The only way for younger players to earn rewards while playing any title on Xbox Game Pass will be through parentally approved purchases of eligible items on Microsoft’s store. With these updates, Microsoft aims to provide new and engaging ways for players to enjoy their subscription service.
