Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid-Season Update: No Rank Reset!

Confusion surrounded a potential rank reset in the upcoming Marvel Rivals update. While rank resets are common in live-service games at the start of each season, NetEase Games initially planned a mid-season reset for Season 1 on February 21, 2025, coinciding with the release of The Thing and Human Torch.

However, due to significant negative player feedback, NetEase reversed course. The developer announced that there will be no rank reset at the mid-season point. Players will retain their current ranks and scores. To earn new rewards (including a Gold rank costume and Crests of Honor), players only need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet specific conditions by the season's end.

This decision showcases NetEase's responsiveness to player concerns and provides higher-ranked players with an extended period to compete.

Season 1 Mid-Season Update Details:

Beyond the absence of a rank reset, the mid-season update introduces The Thing and Human Torch as playable characters. Specific character balance adjustments (buffs and nerfs) remain unannounced.
