Unlike many RPGs where character stats increase with levels, *Monster Hunter Wilds* features a unique Hunter Rank (HR) system. This guide explains the maximum HR and how to increase it.
Currently, Monster Hunter Wilds has no maximum Hunter Rank cap. Your HR will continue to increase as you progress through the game, similar to previous titles in the series. Reaching milestones of every 10 ranks provides small rewards, incentivizing progression. However, after completing all High Rank missions, further HR increases are primarily for bragging rights.
Raising your HR in Monster Hunter Wilds is simple: complete main story missions. During the story, only main missions contribute to HR increases; optional side quests won't affect your rank. This is crucial, as your HR determines which monsters you can hunt online, preventing you from being left behind, particularly when playing with friends.
Once you reach High Rank, new missions unlock as you defeat standard and Tempered monsters. Focusing on these missions provides the quickest path to increasing your HR.
