You, as Henry, face a crucial decision: choosing your trusty steed from two contenders, Pebbles and Herring. The prologue cruelly strips you of your original horse, leaving you to rebuild your life, and your stable. Later, this choice arises, so which horse reigns supreme in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?
You'll reconnect with Pebbles at the Semine estate, before the wedding of Lord Semine and Agnes. She resides in the stables, but requires purchase to ride during your quest with Jan Semine, aptly titled "The Jaunt." Considered Henry's loyal companion, much like Mutt (found through side quests), she holds a special place.
After completing "For Whom the Bell Tolls," Herring becomes available. If you haven't acquired another horse, Otto von Bergow gifts him to you. Otherwise, sell him to Kabat for 300 Groschen.

Herring initially appears superior, boasting higher base stats than Pebbles. However, this is deceptive. Each horse unlocks a perk after covering a certain distance, significantly boosting stats. This means initial stats aren't the whole story.
Ultimately, Pebbles emerges as the best choice. While not possessing the highest stats even after the boost, her lower purchase price and faster perk unlock (after 35 kilometers versus Herring's 50) make her a fantastic bargain. Her boosted stats are impressive: 217 stamina, 353 capacity, 53 speed, and 12 courage. Furthermore, her pre-existing bond with Henry adds sentimental value.
For extensive travel, a reliable steed is essential. Pebbles' combination of affordability, relatively high boosted stats, and early acquisition makes her the ideal choice for Henry's journey.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
