Finnish game developer Supercell has revealed a surprising twist regarding their cancelled RPG, Clash Heroes. Instead of abandoning the project entirely, they're rebooting it as Project R.I.S.E., a multiplayer action RPG roguelite.
Supercell officially confirmed the cancellation of Clash Heroes, echoing the fate of Clash Mini. However, the core concept lives on in Project R.I.S.E., a fresh take set within the familiar Clash universe.
Supercell's announcement video featured game lead Julien Le Cadre, who frankly stated Clash Heroes' demise but emphasized Project R.I.S.E.'s multiplayer action RPG focus.
For more details, watch the announcement video:
Project R.I.S.E. is a completely new game, distinct from its predecessor. It's a social action RPG roguelite where players team up in groups of three to conquer The Tower, a mysterious location with procedurally generated floors. Unlike the solo PvE dungeons of Clash Heroes, the emphasis here is on cooperative gameplay and diverse character interactions.
Currently in pre-alpha, Project R.I.S.E. is slated for its first playtest in early July 2024. Interested players can register on the official website for a chance to participate.
