Pokémon Go Is Celebrating New Year’s 2025 with Festive Fireworks and More!

As 2024 concludes, Pokémon Go players are invited to ring in 2025 with Niantic's New Year's 2025 event. This event kicks off a series of in-game celebrations, including the Fidough Fetch event and the highly anticipated Sprigatito Community Day.

Following these festivities, the Eggs-pedition Access arrives in January as part of the Dual Destiny season. Running from January 1st to 31st, this $4.99 offering unlocks numerous benefits to enhance your Pokémon catching journey. The in-game gifting system also receives a significant upgrade, allowing for storage of up to 40 Gifts, opening of 50 daily, and collection of 150 from Photo Discs.

What's in Store for the New Year's 2025 Event?

The Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there are no new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes this year, the event still offers plenty of festive fun.

Expect increased wild spawns of Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (in a party hat), all with boosted Shiny rates. Event bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks.

Raids feature a snowflake-hat-wearing Pikachu (Tier One), and party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), again with increased Shiny odds. Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases will also provide encounters with themed Pokémon.

Ready to celebrate? Download Pokémon Go from the Google Play Store and join the New Year's 2025 festivities! Before you go, check out our coverage of Night Crimson, Sword of Convallaria’s latest update.
