Pokémon GO's Shadow Raid Day: A Fiery Ho-Oh Returns!

Get ready for a fiery showdown! Pokémon GO announces a Shadow Raid Day featuring the legendary Ho-Oh on January 19th, 2025. This marks the first Shadow Raid Day of the year, offering trainers a fantastic opportunity to catch this powerful Fire-type Pokémon.

This event builds on the success of 2023's Shadow Raid introduction, providing a thrilling way to acquire these unique Pokémon variants. Following previous successful events featuring Shadow Moltres and Shadow Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, originally introduced in 2020, makes a fiery comeback.

Event Details:

• Date & Time: Sunday, January 19th, 2025, from 2 pm to 5 pm local time.
• Featured Pokémon: Shadow Ho-Oh (increased shiny encounter rate).
• Raid Passes: Up to seven free Raid Passes obtainable by spinning Gyms (a $5 ticket boosts this to 15).
• Special Move: Teach your Shadow Ho-Oh the devastating Charged Attack, Sacred Fire (130 power in Trainer Battles, 120 in Raids/Gyms) using a Charged TM.

Boost Your Raid Day with Special Tickets:

Niantic is offering a $5 event ticket to maximize your chances. This ticket increases the maximum number of obtainable Raid Passes from Gyms to 15, boosts Rare Candy XL acquisition rates, provides a 50% XP bonus, and doubles Stardust earned from raids (all bonuses active until 10 pm local time on January 19th). An Ultra Ticket Box ($4.99) including the event ticket and a Premium Battle Pass will also be available in the Pokémon GO in-app store.
