Safari Ball Update Rolls Out for Pokémon GO

What's the Pokémon GO Safari Ball?

Long-time Pokémon fans will recognize Safari Zones from the main series games – special areas for catching rare Pokémon without battles. Niantic is replicating this with the Wild Area event.

Pokémon GO hasn't seen many new Poké Balls. We have the standard Poké Ball, Great Ball, Ultra Ball, Premier Balls, and the coveted Master Ball. The Safari Ball is a significant addition.

The Wild Area event runs globally from November 23rd to 24th, 2024, ending at 6:15 pm local time. Important: Unused Safari Balls vanish from your inventory after the event concludes.

During the event, the Safari Ball will be your best bet for catching powerful Pokémon. It's intriguing that Niantic chose a new event rather than Safari Zone or City Safari events for its launch.
