Stellar Blade marks Shift Up's first non-gacha release in the United States and has garnered attention for its challenging soulslike gameplay, stunning graphics, impressive soundtrack, and its distinctive character design.

In our review, Mitchell Saltzman highlighted that "Stellar Blade is a visually stunning and meticulously crafted action game with notable strengths and equally clear weaknesses. While its narrative and characters may lack depth, and some RPG elements, like repetitive sidequests, fall short, the game compensates with a robust combat system inspired by Sekiro, a variety of fearsome enemies, and plenty of hidden treasures that encourage thorough exploration." Stellar Blade is a technically demanding title, and I recommend playing it in "Performance" mode to maintain a smooth 60fps. For those with a PlayStation 5 Pro, you can enjoy the game in "Enhanced" 4K mode with excellent framerates. According to the official PlayStation blog, “With PS5 Pro, players can experience Stellar Blade in 4K at 50fps or higher, with smoother gameplay. You'll also notice enhanced grain and detail in PSSR upscale mode. Additionally, the HFR (high framerate) option is available, allowing for a seamless gaming experience at 80fps with a 120hz display.”
