DC Comics announces Superman Unlimited, a new monthly series debuting May 2025, penned by Marvel veteran Dan Slott. Slott, renowned for his work on titles like The Amazing Spider-Man and Fantastic Four, returns to DC after a two-decade Marvel exclusivity.

Slott states, "He’s the greatest superhero, and I've always dreamed of telling his stories. Rafael and I will take Superman—and you—to incredible new places each month. Expect surprising twists involving Superman, Lois, familiar villains, and brand-new adversaries. Whether you're a lifelong fan or a newcomer, this is the perfect entry point."

The series introduces a perilous new reality. A Kryptonite asteroid shower leaves Earth saturated with Green K, empowering Intergang with Kryptonite-enhanced weaponry. Superman must develop innovative technology and tactics to combat this unprecedented threat. Simultaneously, Clark Kent confronts a transformed Daily Planet, now a global media giant after merging with Morgan Edge's Galaxy Communications.

DC group editor Paul Kaminski compares the series to Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness's Superman/Batman, stating Superman Unlimited will deliver classic Superman adventures while introducing a massive Kryptonite deposit. He envisions a world where even petty crimes involve Kryptonite weapons, presenting an unprecedented challenge for Superman and his allies. Kaminski further highlights the contrast with the concurrently running Justice League Unlimited, describing Superman Unlimited as a tale of unlimited, Kryptonite-powered super-villains.
