Mastering the Music Box in Phasmophobia: A Guide to Ghost Hunting
Phasmophobia challenges players to identify ghost types and escape with their lives. The game's frequent updates introduce new elements, including the intriguing Music Box. This guide details how to acquire and effectively utilize this valuable tool.
Acquiring the Music Box
Like other cursed items, the Music Box has a 1/7 chance of appearing on any given map. Its spawn is entirely random; there's no guaranteed method to obtain it. Only one Music Box can exist per game. Once located, activate it by interacting with it.
Utilizing the Music Box
Several strategies leverage the Music Box's capabilities. Upon activation, it plays a tune. If a ghost is within 20 meters, it will "sing along," revealing its approximate location. Proximity matters; within 5 meters, the ghost will approach the Box. The activated Box can be placed on the ground, acting as a lure. The music stops automatically after completion. Note: Holding the Music Box depletes your sanity.
Triggering a Hunt
The Music Box can initiate either a cursed or standard hunt, depending on these factors:
Strategic Gameplay
For optimal use, combine the Music Box with other tools. Smudge Sticks, for example, offer a survival advantage during hunts, allowing for ghost identification or objective completion.
