Avowed, set in the expansive Eora world from the Pillars of Eternity series, offers a diverse range of races, though character creation options are somewhat limited. Here's a breakdown of the playable races:
Humans, or Folk, are the most common race in Avowed, boasting extensive customization options. A wide array of facial presets, skin tones, and hairstyles are available, providing players with ample choices to create a unique character.
Elves are another playable race. Visually similar to humans, they are distinguished by their slightly different facial features and characteristic pointed ears.
While all Envoys are Godlikes in the game's narrative, players can choose to incorporate Godlike features into their character. These features include a selection of unique hairstyles and facial structures, ranging from subtle to fantastical. At launch, Avowed offers 14 Godlike facial features and four hairstyles. These options are available regardless of chosen race or body type.
Avowed provides four body types: two masculine and two feminine, available for both Humans and Elves. Two masculine and two feminine voice options are also available. Players can also select their character's pronouns (he, she, or they).
While many races populate the world of Avowed, not all are playable. Dwarves, Aumaua, and Orlans, for example, are present as NPCs but are not currently selectable character options. However, future updates or DLC may expand the available races.
This covers all playable races in Avowed. For further customization options, consult our guide on available character backgrounds.
