The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 premiere date revealed! IGN Fan Fest 2025 exclusively announced a May 4, 2025 release date.
IGN unveiled an exclusive clip and interviews with Scott Gimple (Chief Content Officer), Lauren Cohen (Maggie), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan).
Cohen described Maggie's emotional state entering Season 2: "Not everything's rosy," she explained, highlighting the relatable family tensions amidst the apocalypse. The challenges of raising a teenage son and caring for Ginny create familiar domestic dynamics within the post-apocalyptic setting.
Morgan discussed Negan's precarious position, under the control of The Dama and The Croat, a situation he's less than thrilled about. While always scheming, Negan faces significant challenges this season. He also reflected on Lucille, his iconic barbed-wire bat: "I love that thing!" he admitted.
Gimple teased the season's conflicts: "No single big bad," he stated, hinting at shifting power dynamics and a more complex, politically charged narrative that will eventually become physically confrontational.
IGN also shared the opening minutes of Season 2's premiere episode.
The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 premieres on AMC May 4, 2025. Stay tuned for more news from Fan Fest 2025.
