New Western-Style Farming Game Announced

Cattle Country, a forthcoming farming simulator, is generating considerable buzz on Steam's wishlist. This Wild West-themed title shares similarities with the popular Stardew Valley, offering players diverse money-making opportunities within a captivating frontier setting.

Developed by Castle Pixel, known for titles like Rex Rocket and Blossom Tales 2: The Minotaur Prince, Cattle Country marks their foray into the farming simulation genre. The Steam description labels it a "Cozy Cowboy Adventure Life Sim," promising a blend of familiar farming mechanics with a unique western twist. Expect elements like constructing a mountain home, fostering town development, and cultivating relationships with villagers, echoing the charm of Stardew Valley.

What distinguishes Cattle Country? Primarily, its Old West setting. Promotional materials showcase captivating visuals – herding cattle under a campfire's glow, traversing dusty roads in a horse-drawn wagon, and even engaging in action-packed scenes like old west shootouts and bare-knuckle brawls. Mining, presented in a 2D Terraria-style format, adds another layer to the gameplay.

Classic farming sim elements are also present: planting and harvesting crops, deploying scarecrows, and lumberjacking. Festivals, a Stardew Valley staple, also appear, but with unique twists like a Santa-led Christmas feast and square dances. While a release date remains unannounced, adding Cattle Country to your Steam wishlist is highly recommended.
