Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana introduces players to a series of challenging bosses that enhance their understanding and mastery of the game's mechanics. Although the game may not be as lengthy as some other RPGs, it offers a robust lineup of bosses for players to conquer.
Initially, players might require some guidance to navigate the game's mechanics effectively. However, by the time they face Gyalva, Lord of the Blazing Prison, they should have a solid grasp of combat, abilities, and other gameplay elements.
- Boss Location: Zone of Lava, the Escapeless Abyss
After defeating Guilen, The Fire Eater, players will progress through the Zone of Lava to confront their next formidable opponent, Gyalva. To ease the battle, it's strategic to position yourself at one of the bridge's ends.
In this fight, movement is significantly restricted, and the bridge's platforms are continuously disturbed by Gyalva's attacks. Players must frequently leap towards Gyalva and utilize wind magic to inflict maximum damage swiftly.
The Ys series remains a standout title in Nihon Falcom’s portfolio, offering immense satisfaction in overcoming its challenging bosses.
While Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana is a remake of Ys 3 and continues the franchise's narrative, Gyalva is a new addition to the roster of bosses. This adversary has a variety of attacks that can quickly accumulate damage if not handled carefully. Gyalva flies around the bridge, often dislodging parts with its fiery assaults.
To prepare for this battle, it's advisable to upgrade Adol's abilities and gear. Aim to reach at least Level 21, which shouldn't be too demanding if you've been engaging with all encountered enemies.
Gyalva employs two types of spinning attacks. The first involves passing over a section of the bridge, causing the affected plates to spin upward. The second sees Gyalva flying straight over the entire bridge, flipping all the plates in its path. Both can severely impact the player's health if they are underleveled.
To evade the first attack, players should move to the sides of the affected area. For the second, the safest spots are the ledges at either end of the bridge. Staying near one side facilitates quick escapes to the edge.
Avoid staying at the very end of the bridge to prevent being cornered. Instead, maneuver around the bridge to attack Gyalva and then retreat to the nearest ledge.
Gyalva launches a fireball onto the bridge, causing the plates to rise. While this can damage players, it also presents a brief opportunity to land multiple hits on Gyalva.
The bridge's torches occasionally erupt in flames, with fireballs passing between them. These bursts can harm players, but once they subside, the area becomes safe to traverse again. Predicting these bursts is challenging, so players must remain vigilant and ready to move.
