How to Play Okey
The standard Okey game is played with four players. Each player uses a cue stick to sort their tiles, which come in four colors: Red, Black, Yellow, and Blue, numbered from 1 to 13. The game includes two fake Okey tiles among a total of 106 tiles.
At the start, all tiles are mixed and automatically distributed. The player next to the dealer receives 15 tiles, while the others get 14. Players then arrange their tiles into groups or pairs according to their cues.
Tiles not distributed are placed in the middle of the table, with one open numbered tile serving as the indicator stone. The tile matching the indicator stone's color and number becomes the Okey Stone, which can substitute for any tile in the game. Finishing the game with an Okey tile doubles the points earned.
Normal Tile Arrangement
Players aim to form at least three pairs, either by arranging tiles of the same color in sequence or by grouping tiles of the same number across different colors.
Pair Formation
To end the game, a player must arrange all tiles into seven pairs and drag the last tile to the middle of the table.
Indicator Rule
At the start of a new game, the next player reveals the indicator tile. If it's an Okey-colored tile, points are deducted; otherwise, two points are subtracted.
End of Game
The game ends when a player discards their last tile. If it's not an Okey, it's a normal finish, deducting 2 points from other players. If it's Okey-colored, 4 points are deducted. Finishing with seven pairs deducts 4 points, while completing a color sequence from 1 to 13 drops other players' points to zero. An irregular same-color finish deducts 8 points.
