Palace - Free Classic Card Game (AKA Shed, Karma, or "OG")
Palace was the most popular card game in my high school cafeteria and study halls during the 90s. Wikipedia also notes its popularity among backpackers, contributing to its widespread appeal. We've added new options based on user requests (pickup pile anytime and 7 forces lower) and the ability to play against friends.
Play against eight unique computer opponents, each with distinct playing styles, or challenge your friends in live matches.
Basic Rules:
Each player receives three face-down cards (hidden until the end of the game), three face-up cards, and three cards for their hand. You may exchange cards between your hand and face-up cards.
The player with a 3, or the next lowest card, starts. On your turn, discard one or more cards of equal or higher value than the top card of the pickup pile. Then, draw cards from the deck to maintain at least three cards in your hand (unless the deck is empty or you already have three or more).
2s and 10s are wild cards. 2s reset the pile, and 10s (or four of a kind) clear it. If you can't discard a valid card, you must pick up the entire pile.
Once your hand is empty and the deck is depleted, play your face-up cards, followed by your face-down cards. The first player to discard all their cards wins.
Palace is also known as Shed, Karma, or "OG".
