Journey back in time with Marvel Snap's Prehistoric Avengers season! The season's standout card, and arguably the most powerful, is Agamotto, an ancient sorcerer with ties to Doctor Strange. Let's explore the best Agamotto decks.
Agamotto is a 5-cost, 10-power card with a game-changing ability: "Game Start: Shuffle 4 Ancient Arcana into your deck." These Arcana are:
Notice the Ancient Arcana lack power cost and feature the "Banish" keyword. This classifies them as Skill cards, not character cards. They're played, then banished—they don't go to the discard pile and can't be replayed. This means they combo with Wong but not Odin; King Etri won't pull Agamotto, and Ravonna Renslayer or Mister Negative won't affect their cost. Agamotto's diverse Arcana effects make him difficult to pigeonhole into a single archetype.
While Agamotto's ultimate archetype may take time to develop, he currently fits well into two deck types: Wiccan Control and Push Scream.
This deck (available via Untapped link) includes Quicksilver, Hydra Bob, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Iron Patriot, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Cassandra Nova, Rocket & Groot, Copycat, Galacta, Wiccan, Agamotto, and Alioth. It's expensive, featuring many Series 5 cards. While most cards are replaceable with similar-cost alternatives, Bolts of Balthakk provides crucial late-game energy even if you miss Wiccan. The Arcana synergize well; Temporal Manipulation retrieves Agamotto early, Wombs of Watoomb disrupts, and Images of Ikonn creates powerful copies, especially of Cassandra Nova or Galacta. Note that Eson, another new card, complements this deck well.
This deck (available via Untapped link) includes Hydra Bob, Scream, Iron Patriot, Kraven, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Spider-Man, Rocket & Groot, Miles Morales, Stegron, Cannonball, and Agamotto. Again, it's expensive (Series 5 cards include Hydra Bob, Scream, Iron Patriot, Sam Wilson, Rocket & Groot, and Cannonball; some replacements are suggested). While only Wombs of Watoomb directly synergizes, Temporal Manipulation boosts Agamotto's late-game impact, and Images of Ikonn multiplies your Screams, Spider-Mans, or Cannonballs for devastating board control. This deck's unpredictability and ability to counter Luke Cage and Shadow King decks make Agamotto a valuable addition.
Agamotto, barring nerfs, is a powerful card comparable to Thanos or Arishem. His disruptive potential and future archetype potential make the 9.99 USD Season Pass a worthwhile investment if you have the budget.
