The Dark God's Violin is the first, and story-critical, Dark Instrument. Unlocked during Chapter 2, a crew member (Jason) leads you to a reunion gone wrong. This encounter introduces the Devil Flag pirates, responsible for killing Jason's friend and stealing the Pharaoh Stone.

You'll meet Misaki, the friend's daughter, who joins your crew seeking revenge, initiating the side quest. Following the questline leads you to islands east of Madlantis. A tough battle against a superior Devil Flag fleet awaits; focus your attacks on the boss ship to board and continue the fight. Victory yields the Dark God's Violin. The game then lets you test it in a 100-enemy brawl.

Defeating the Devil Flags triggers a cutscene introducing the fleet captains: Yakuza, Ronin, Shinobi, and Zeus. They challenge you, officially beginning the side quest to collect all Dark Instruments (though defeating them isn't mandatory for the main story).

A Pirate Rank Four and 220 Devil Flags are needed for the final Dark Instrument. Sailing to the Frost Entrance Lighthouse initiates a battle with the Devil Flag fleet blocking Frost Island. Four more islands (Snowview, Coldwave, Icicle Island, and Glacial) provide further challenges and Devil Flags.

Captain Shinobi's fleet must be defeated before landing. Island battles lead to a cave and a recovery area before the final fight against Captain Shinobi.
